FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: laser with modulated q-factor includes housing, active element and resonator consisting of two mirrors, one of which is rigidly fixed relative to housing, and second one has possibility of rotation so that in working position mirrors were parallel. Laser includes torsion spring, connected by one end to housing, and by other end to second mirror axis so that torsion spring axis is conjugated with mirror rotation axis. Between second mirror and housing there is current-conducting thread in tensioned condition locking second mirror relative to housing in initial position at angle of φ to working position. Besides, there are series-connected switch and power supply connected to ends of current-conducting thread, wherein angle is , where W0 is given angular velocity of second mirror in its working position, J is total inertia moment of second mirror and spring rotation, M is torque developed by spring at second mirror between its initial and working positions.

EFFECT: higher reliability and efficiency, as well as reduction of electric and magnetic interference and noise at minimum dimensions of laser.
