FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: laser with q-factor modulation includes housing, active element and resonator consisting of two mirrors, one of which is rigidly fixed relative to housing, and second one has possibility of rotation. Coaxially to second mirror includes current-conducting torsion spring, one end fixed on housing, and by other end connected to second mirror axis. Also includes series-connected switch and power supply connected to ends of springs, wherein second mirror is placed in initial position at angle of φ to working position, in which mirrors are parallel, and angle of , where W0 is given angular velocity of second mirror in its working position, J is total inertia moment of second mirror and torsion spring rotation, M is torque, created on second mirror torsion spring axis of rotation at its thermal expansion under action of current flowing from electric power source.
EFFECT: higher reliability and efficiency, as well as reduction of electric and magnetic interference and noise at minimum dimensions of laser.
