FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to machine building and may be used for cutting of metals. Insert comprises cutting edge to cut material off the workpiece to produce the angle α there in. There is at least one insert with a part of cutting edge confined by the first and second lines directed tangentially to said insert par at appropriate contact points A and B. Said lines make a cutting angle there between complying with said main angle α in plan with vertex O. For median line of cutting angle crossing the cutting edge part at point C projection C of said point C on line OL passing through vertex O perpendicular to the plane of one insert type is located between projections A' and B' of appropriate cutting edge points A and B on line OL. Invention discloses cutting tool options, design of cutting tool with insert and production thereof.
EFFECT: efficient chip removal, higher machining quality.
