FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: cutting element containing a cutting portion and a cooling portion. Cutting portion comprises a rake surface, relief surface and cutting edge formed at the intersection of rake surface and relief surface. Cooling portion has an operative surface and a cooling nozzle integrally formed therewith. Nozzle is spaced from the cutting edge and has a cooling aperture directed at the cutting edge at an acute angle with respect to the rake surface face. Said nozzle is composed of at least one side wall extending in the transverse direction relative to said working surface, and the upper surface passing across the said side wall, so that said cooling aperture is limited by the above working surface, the above side wall and said upper surface.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of cooling of cutting area.
