FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cutting tool comprises a head with a pocket to arrange a cutter plate, a spiral chip groove passing to backside of a rod, a cooling water feed hole inclined on end area of the head towards outer vertex of the cutter plate, and the hexahedral cutter plate mounted in said pocket and provided with a screw hole in its centre and a chip shapers surrounding the screw hole. The lateral faces lie between the lower and upper faces of the cutter plate. Also, there are cutting edges provided. The cutter plate are round-nosed in each of its four corners where lateral faces coalesce with the cutting edges, one of which is an outer vertex that determines sizes of the drilled hole, and the other is an inner vertex opposed to the axis of the cutting tool. The angle of the outer vertex is acute and exceeded with the obtuse angle of the inner vertex. Each lateral face has a positively oriented outside angle, while each cutting edge has three or more straight and curved sections. Thus cutting edges, shapers of a shaving and lateral surfaces are executed symmetrically concerning a straight line dividing external top on two equal parts. The cutting edge adjacent with the inner vertex is subjacent with the axis of the cutting tool and has a positively oriented inclination 20 - 60 degrees relative to the lower face, or arched edge with tangent inclination similar to aforesaid. A tool holder includes a body with a square shaft and a groove used as a guide for up-down traverse of a fastening unit of the cutting tool. To ensure the same technical result, it is equipped with a wedge movable along inclined face of the case and opposed to the shaft. It has a wedge screw geared with the body shaft and used to move the wedge along the inclined face while being rotated, and a fixation component. Herewith a unit traverse grooved is dovetail-shaped. And the body is provided with a narrow-width slot from one corner of said dovetail-shaped groove towards the shaft of the body. The fixation component is designed to ensure a tight contact of a front lateral part and a back lateral part forming the narrow-width groove of the case thereby fixing a position of the fastening unit of the built-in cutting tool that is traversed up-down along the groove in the body while the wedge screw is rotated.
