FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of secondary aluminium granules alumina-containing raw material for refining and formation of slag-forming material at melting of steel, as well as in production of said granules. Method involves thermo-mechanical processing of secondary aluminium raw materials with subsequent multistage classification and magnetic separation of quickly cooled processing products. Heated products are placed in cooling unit, after cooling, they pass fractional classification. Obtained fraction -50+10 mm and +50 mm fraction, subjected to additional crushing, magnetic separation and repeated classification are subjected to magnetic separation. Prepared by fractional classification -10 mm fraction is sintered and recycled. Invention enables to obtain hardened material with preset fractional composition, completely cleaned from mechanical magnetic fraction and stable chemical composition: Al of not less than 8 %, Al2O3 is not less than 20 %, S is not more than 0.03 %, total content of chlorides of alkali and alkali-earth metals of not more than 45 %.
