FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; oxygen converter process.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes charging metal scrap, addition of slag-forming and carbon-containing materials, heating with oxygen for period of time equal to 15-45% of total lancing time, pouring molten cast iron and lancing the melt with oxygen. Then, aluminum-containing wastes are additionally added in portions; first portion is added on metal scrap in the amount of 40-60% of total consumption simultaneously with slag-forming and carbon-containing materials at ratio of 1: (6-9) : (2-6). The remaining amount of aluminum-containing wastes are added after pouring cast iron in way of lancing simultaneously with slag-forming materials at ratio of 1: (4-12), respectively.
EFFECT: increased yield of steel; enhanced resistance of converter lining.
