FIELD: telecommunications.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video surveillance, in particular, to video surveillance using rotary (PTZ) cameras. Disclosed is a method of reducing positioning error of PTZ camera, characterised by that it comprises obtaining a target position of camera rotation, then determining at least one intermediate camera and its coordinates based on data on target position of camera rotation, after which camera is successively rotated to target position through said intermediate positions.
EFFECT: reduced positioning error of camera and increasing repeatability of positioning.
