FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for determining coordinates of objects. A method for determining the coordinates of objects is proposed, in which a video camera rotating around a vertical axis is arranged in a high-altitude structure and configured to vary the angle of inclination, the coordinates of the high-altitude structure are determined, the video camera is pointed to the identified object, the coordinates of the object are determined according to the camera angle, camera height and camera azimuth angle. Also, in the claimed method, the radius of terrain view and the camera rotation pitch is selected, a model of relief slices around the point of installation of the video camera with a given pitch in the database of elevation maps is built, the calculated horizon line in each frame is determined, a line composed of the points of the calculated horizon line is superimposed on the image from the video camera, the line corresponding to the real horizon line is determined on the image from the video camera, the deviation of the real horizon line from the calculated horizon line is determined, the correction angle to the camera angle is recorded in the database to calculate the coordinates of the vector intersection corresponding to the line of camera view to the terrain.
EFFECT: accuracy of determining the coordinates of objects is increased.
