SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Method of determining calibration characteristics of a camera includes: determining, depending on the calibration characteristics of the camera, a mathematical model which matches parts of the image captured by the camera with real-world objects, the set and the required accuracy of finding the calibration characteristics of interest; shooting of available survey route; determining singular points on the obtained images; determining a new survey route; capturing images and tracking movement of singular points thereon; solving optimization problem, searching for such set of calibration characteristics, at which minimum discrepancy predicted by displacement model of singular points with real movements is achieved; taking into account known camera positioning error, errors of found calibration characteristics are estimated; if the error exceeds a certain accuracy, then the algorithm iteratively repeats; set of calibration characteristics corresponding to minimum discrepancy of target function is received.

EFFECT: provision for accuracy of calibration characteristics of the camera.
