SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of decoding video data. Method includes a step of determining direction of at least one pixel from a block of pixels. Further, method comprises determining first metric for said at least one pixel from said block of pixels, wherein said metric is determined based on comparison of pixel values for a subset of the pixels in said block with said at least one pixel. Method also includes determining, based on said metric and said direction, a filter from a set of filters, signalled in video data for said at least one pixel from said block of pixels.
EFFECT: reducing number of bits required for signalling of filter coefficients.
