FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method of measuring the distance relates to the field of radio engineering techniques for measuring distances and can be used, for example, to measure short distances in local navigation systems when controlling the movement of underwater objects. This result is achieved through the use of simultaneously two channels of information transmission, both of which are suitable for transmitting signals under water. In the first channel, the inductive coupling of the two frame magnetic antennas is used. In-phase continuous electrical oscillations are formed with the help of this channel at the measuring station and at the controlled object. At a controlled object, the received electrical oscillations amplify and feed the input to an acoustic transducer, as a result of which an acoustic wave is formed in the second information channel. Phase shift of the acoustic wave is an information parameter for determining the distance. At the measuring station itself, an acoustic wave is received and converted into an electrical signal and then by successively changing the frequency of continuous electrical oscillations and the concomitant measurement of the phase difference of electrical signals, formed as a result of transformations in the acoustic channel, unambiguously determine the distance to the object under control in the local navigation system of short range.
EFFECT: measurement of range under water.
