FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to neurology, in particular prediction functional outcome of acute ischemic stroke. Total score is estimated by NIH stroke scale and cerebral CT perfusion in first day after acute period of disease is carried out. During CT perfusion total area of ischemia, consisting of area and area of penumbra, as well as cerebral blood flow in area of penumbra are determined. When producing total NIH score over 12, total area of ischemia of more 3,170 mm2 and level of cerebral blood flow (CBF) reduction in penumbra of less 24.3 ml/100 g/min heavy functional outcome of acute ischemic stroke is predicted.

EFFECT: method enables providing more reliable prediction of functional outcome of acute stroke, that is ensured by determining and taking into account the total NIH score, total area of ischemia and level of reduction of cerebral blood flow (CBF) in penumbra.
