SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway equipment and can be used in removing ballast from ballast boxes of railway track. Motor-hydraulic apparatus for removing ballast from ballast boxes comprises an L-shaped frame, resting by a post on a horizontal shaft. Pendulum and handle with rocker are pivotally attached on other end of bed. Hydraulic cylinder is pivotally mounted at boom, and its rod is pivoted to pendulum, on which in lower working end is welded a peak. On peak there is a working element in form of a moth, shovel or rake. Supporting frame is made in form of rectangle for mounting apparatus in working position.

EFFECT: possibility of mechanisation of operations when removing ballast from ballast boxes.
