FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing anode paste for anodes of aluminium electrolytic cells. Method involves preparation of anode paste by mixing grain fractions of carbon filler in the form of coke with premade binding matrix (BM) based on dust fraction of coke and tar pitch used as binder; and control of grain-size composition (BM) relative to preset viscosity logarithm of binding matrix by means of correction of dust fraction ratio at determination of viscosity of the binding matrix in automatic mode.

EFFECT: improvement and stabilisation of properties of anode mass due to its plasticity control.
