FIELD: electrolytic equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fabrication of anode paste for self- baking anodes of aluminum electrolyzers and aims at increasing performance characteristics of electrolysis by means of reducing specific consumption of anode paste, power, and fluoride salts. Process includes crushing, sorting, and grinding calcined cokes, dosing coke charge components, mixing coke charge and hydrocarbon binder. More particularly, content of fraction - 6+1 mm in groats from riddle is maintained between 78 and 96%, coke charge before mixing contains following fractions, wt. %: +6 mm <3, -6+4 mm 7-15, -4+1 mm 28-36, -1+0.08 mm 17-29, -0.08 mm 27-33, and hydrocarbon binder is added in amount 25- 29% based on the weight of coke. EFFECT: improved performance characteristics of electrolysis.
