FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of forming secondary anode of aluminum electrolytic cell with self-baking anode. Method involves preparation of sub-pin mass from binder and coke filler with at least 20 % of graphite in it with size of fraction less than 2.0 mm, loading of sub-pin mass into sub-pin holes after extraction of anode pins and formation of secondary anode from prepared sub-pin mass.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption of not less than 100 kW⋅h/t.
