FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: proposed engine comprises cylinder, adjusting piston and working piston; on inner surface of cylinder there is an annular groove with triangular cross section. Elastic element in form of ring spring made from material with shape memory effect, along external perimeter is rigidly fixed in top of triangular annular grooves, and along internal perimeter is connected with adjusting piston. At starting and warming-up cold engine, elastic element is pressed to lower surface of annular grooves. After engine has warmed up in elastic member material martensite transformation occurs, and elastic member is bent upward and is pressed against upper surface of annular groove.

EFFECT: technical result consists in automatic control of value of volume compression chamber of internal combustion engine.
