FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to production of uranium-based alloy powder, and can be used in production of nuclear fuel. Method of producing uranium-based alloy powder containing molybdenum, with metastable γ phase involves bringing at least one first reagent selected from uranium oxides and mixtures thereof and uranium fluorides and mixtures thereof, in contact with second reagent consisting of molybdenum or molybdenum alloy, and with third reagent consisting of metal of reducing agent, wherein first, second and third reagents are in crushed form; interaction of reduced contact reagents in inert atmosphere at temperature at least equal to melting point of third reagent to form uranium-based alloy containing molybdenum in form of powder particles of which are coated with layer of oxide or metal fluoride reducing agent; cooling of formed powder with speed equal to at least of 450 °C/h; and removal of oxide or metal fluoride reducing agent, covering particles of powder alloy.
EFFECT: ease of production of nuclear fuel, optimized behaviour of fuel in conditions of exposure.
