METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF STEEL Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC C21C5/52 C21D8/00 C22C38/00

Abstract RU 2586963 C1

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control over chemical composition of steel in order to produce continuously cast billet with limitation of relative narrowing. Proposed method comprises metal melting in steelmaking facility, tapping metal into steel ladle, addition of deoxidiser and alloying materials, out-furnace treatment of metal, and its continuous casting. Prior to steel production on basis of its required chemical composition, coefficient values of relative narrowing of steel are determined in temperature range 600-850 °C and if coefficient value of relative narrowing of steel at any temperature is less than 60 %, required chemical composition of steel is corrected, in intervals of allowed values for chemical elements, and then repeated determination coefficients of relative narrowing of steel is performed, until coefficient values of relative narrowing of steel at any temperature are not less than 60 %; thereafter, production of steel is commenced with defined chemical composition. Coefficient values of relative narrowing of steel in temperature range 600-850 °C are determined by formula.

EFFECT: provided higher surface quality of continuously cast billet against "crack" defects, and quality of rolled stock against steelmaking defects.
