FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the overvoltage protection element. The device contains the housing with terminals for electric connection of the overvoltage protection element to the protected current or signal line, with two varistors located inside the housing and electrically connected in parallel and, at least, with the central electrode which is partially located between varistors, the housing has two metal electrically connected halves (7, 8) of the housings, and the central electrode (6) is isolated from the housing halves (7, 8) and by its opposite sides is respectively electrically connected to the first connecting area of the varistor, both varistors and the central electrode are located as a sandwich between both housing halves (7, 8).
EFFECT: compensation of tolerance of different thickness values of used varistors.
