SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to centrifuge of periodic action and to a method of making cover of centrifuge for periodic action. Cover of centrifuge of periodic action with drum has fluid discharge holes, obtained during centrifugation, wherein holes have a cross section in form of ellipse. Cross section of holes is continuous from inner side to outer side of cover. Diameter (a₂) of cross sections of holes in direction parallel to axis of drum, on inner side of cover is equal or approximately equal to diameter of (a₁) of cross sections of holes in direction parallel to axis of drum, on outer side holes. Diameter of (l₂) of cross sections of holes in peripheral direction on inner side of cover is less than diameter (l₁) of cross sections of holes in peripheral direction on outer surface of cover, resulting in cross-sections holes expanded outside. Method of producing cover of centrifuge of periodic action with drum according to first version consists comprises making elliptical holes in metal sheet of cover to its curvature by cutting with water jet, from which after rounding sheet holes are formed with elliptical cross section. Method of producing cover of centrifuge of periodic action in another version consists in that cover after rounding sheet metal jacket holes are made with cross section in form of ellipse by water jet. Walls of openings are made with continuous configuration from inner side to outer side and in peripheral direction, diameter (l₂) of cross sections of holes in peripheral direction on inner side of cover is less than diameter (l₁) of cross section of holes in peripheral direction on outer side of cover, resulting in cross-sections of holes expanded outside.

EFFECT: optimising cover of centrifuge due to reduction of stresses in it in area of holes, which provides durability and stability of centrifuge drum.
