FIELD: transport; personal and household items.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices and can be used for transportation of people in wheelchairs both at horizontal surface and staircases. Stair elevator comprises power drive with reduction gear, carriage pivotally connected with wheelchair suspension, three guides installed in ceiling part of the building at stair flight ends of which are fixed on ceiling and/or on walls, and/or on posts at angle equal to or close to staircase inclination. One of guides is rotating and designed in the form of shaft with screw surface and connected to the shaft of electric reduction gear, carriage has hole with screw surface to form screw pair by means of carriage and rotating guide. Carriage is articulated with wheelchair suspension via rigid bar, on both sides of which and parallel to rotating guide there are two other fixed guides. Suspension has rigid structure, is articulated to the front part of wheelchair and has length allowing all wheelchair wheels to rest on the surface of lower and upper horizontal part of staircase flight, and on the staircase suspension allows front wheels to be in lifted position and rear wheels - rest on stair steps.

EFFECT: simplified design and expansion of operational functionality of staircase elevator.
