FIELD: electricity; transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical traction systems of vehicles. Electric drive comprises at least one electric motor and one converter made on two series-connected controlled semiconductor switches, which are shunted by free-wheeling diodes. Motor is connected between common point of controlled semiconductor switches of converter and one of outputs of power supply source through a capacitor. Capacitor is shunted with diode passing current in motor mode of electric drive operation.
EFFECT: improved energy efficiency of electric drive.
