SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video coding, in particular to use of the deblocking filter for high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) standard. Disclosed are methods of encoding video data, which comprise coding a plurality of blocks of video data, wherein at least one unit of plurality of blocks of video data are encoded using an encoding mode, which is either an intra pulse code modulation (IPCM) coding mode or a lossless coding mode, including using prediction. Method also includes assigning a non-zero quantisation parameter (QP) value for at least one block coded using said coding mode; and performing deblocking filtering on one or more of plurality of blocks of video data based on coding mode used to code said at least one block and assigned non-zero QP value for at least one block.
EFFECT: technical result is improved visual quality of video.
