FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.

SUBSTANCE: method of measuring distance between onboard and ground transmitting-receiving stations is cyclic transmission and reception of total signals. Each composite signal consists of main frequency signal and, at least, one of additional frequency signals. Each of operations with total signals at any station, i.e., transmission, reception, measurement of phase shift are carried out simultaneously. Distance value is proportional to phase shift difference for maximum metric frequency. During calculation method of elimination of ambiguity of phase readings is used.

EFFECT: reduced time and high accuracy of measuring distance between the onboard and ground transmitting-receiving stations.
