FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: pack of signals with random pulse-wise frequency tuning is used during emission. Pulses at the same frequency are used in the pack several times. The number of signals with frequency tuning used in the pack is a multiple of the number of frequencies used and is equal to 2k, where k=6…9. The wavelength range is the centimetre range and the frequency tuning range is within the range of 150 MHz. Each pulse from the pack is assigned an index (identification number). In order to emit signals with random frequency tuning, a sequence of identification numbers of pulses is randomly redistributed. After reception, reflected signals are placed in order of linear increase in the identification number. The method is based on re-phasing the frequency characteristic of the object by compensating for phase components associated with its radial displacement based on random frequency tuning. As an estimate of the degree of coincidence of the true radial velocity of the object and its hypothetical value, the range portrait of the aerial object is used, as well as the value of entropy of data making up its vector.
EFFECT: simple technical and digital implementation, as well as high accuracy of measuring radial velocity of an aerial object.
