FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of polyolefins, in particular, proposed technology relates to operating conditions during polymerisation of olefins. Method for production of polyolefin includes mixing in reactor for liquid-phase polymerization a catalyst with a dilution mixture containing a diluent and an olefin monomer. Diluent contains propane, butane or isobutane or a combination of said compounds. Liquid-phase polymerisation reactor is operated at pressure above critical pressure of diluent, which is set by dilution mixture composition, but at temperature below critical temperature of diluent.

EFFECT: such mode of operation of reactor enables to reduce cost of production of polyolefin, improves operational characteristics, and prevents sintering of low-density linear polyethylene and thereby reducing contamination.
