FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a reactor system for the polymerization of olefins and, more specifically, to a reactor system for optimizing the production of polyolefin polymers in a loop reactor with high efficiency. Reactor system contains one or more loop reactors for the polymerization of olefins. Loop reactors contain vertical sections, corner sections and/or horizontal sections connected in one or more loop reaction zones for the polymerization of an olefin monomer, in the presence of a liquid diluent, into a suspension containing particles of a polyolefin polymer. To increase production efficiency and reduce costs, the area occupied by the reactor system is reduced, while at the same time maintaining high performance. In one embodiment of the invention, the horizontal length (LH) of one horizontal section is significantly reduced while maintaining high performance. In another embodiment of the invention, one angular portion of the reactor system is configured to maintain a Dean number (Dn) of the slurry flowing therein to be higher than 3,000,000.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in production efficiency without the use of multiple settling columns using a continuous product withdrawal line or other similar mechanism for the continuous withdrawal of suspension products from the reactor.
