FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method of producing ultra-dispersed metal powder with particle size of 10-2,000 microns comprises feeding of a metal rod into a chamber of an electric-arc DC plasma torch with plasma-forming argon gas, its treatment in a plasma flow with further cooling and condensation of powder in a receiving bin. Particle size of produced powder is regulated by changing direct current force of the plasma torch within the range of 100-500 A and distance between the end of the rod and an outlet hole of confuser-diffusion nozzle of the plasma torch within the range of 30-120 mm. Metal rod can be made of titanium, silicon, molybdenum, copper, titanium alloy, nickel alloy, cobalt alloy or instrumental alloy A6.

EFFECT: there is ensured production of powder with maximum output of the specified fraction.
