FIELD: image forming device.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to cartridge and electrophotographic image forming apparatus in which cartridge is mounted with possibility of disconnection. Declared group of inventions includes a cartridge for an electrophotographic image forming apparatus and electrophotographic image forming apparatus for forming an image on recording material. Cartridge of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, wherein main assembly of said apparatus includes a driven motor engaging portion of main assembly, having a drive shaft and a part of applying rotational force provided to drive shaft, and an electrophotographic photosensitive drum, wherein cartridge is adapted to installed in main fitting unit in direction substantially perpendicular to axial direction of driving shaft, said cartridge comprising: a developing roller for developing a latent image on an electrophotographic photosensitive drum rotatable about its roller axis; and a connecting member, rotatable about axis of coupling member by rotational force received by engaging portion of main assembly, wherein said connecting member includes a part adopting a rotation force, engages with part of applying rotational force for making rotation force to be transmitted to said developing roller from engaging portion of main assembly, and a part transmitting rotational force for transmitting rotational force to said developing roller through said portion taking a rotational force, wherein said connecting member is movable between angular position for transmitting rotational force, wherein axis of connecting element is substantially parallel to said roll axis, and angular position before engagement, wherein side part taking rotational force of said axis of coupling member positioned behind part of transmission rotating force of said axis of coupling member with respect to setting direction, and said coupling member is disengaged from engaging part of main unit through adoption of said angular position before engagement.
EFFECT: technical result consists in developing cartridge which can detachably mounted in main unit of electrophotographic image forming apparatus by a user, enabling user to maintain image forming apparatus operational (without relying on servicing personnel), thereby considerably improving electrophotographic image forming apparatus with respect to convenience and usability, particularly with respect to its content and maintenance.
