SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to means of tracking form, position and orientation devices for imaging and treatment. Device comprises converting device configured to receive signals from rack and imaging on basis of energy reflected or passing waves, flexible cable connected with transducer device, at least one optical fibre having a shape and position corresponding to shape and position of cable during operation, and multiple sensors, optically connected with at least one optical fibre, sensors are configured to measure curvature and bending optical fibre and transmitting information to calculate spatial geometry and/or form converter device. In second version of device additionally comprises a medical instrument, which includes an elongated converting device configured to receive signals from rack and imaging on basis of energy reflected or passing waves. System for tracking of section of device contains a spatially distributed fibre Bragg grating (FBG), integrated on optical fibre and located inside flexible cable, an ultrasonic transducer, an optical system configured to deliver light to FBG and receive light from FBG so as to measure curvature of optical fibre in flexible cable, computer system having possibility of determining shape of calculating parameters relating to curving optical fibre, and determining configuration of flexible cable so flexible cable configuration provides position of ultrasonic transducer.
EFFECT: using inventions increases image resolution.
