METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR GENERATING TRANSFER FUNCTION OF HEAD BY LINEAR MIXING OF HEAD TRANSFER FUNCTIONS Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC H04S1/00

Abstract RU 2591179 C2

FIELD: radio engineering and communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and is intended for audio signal processing. Method for performing linear mixing of related transfer functions of the head (HRTF functions) in order to determine interpolated HRTF for any given direction of arrival in a certain range, for example, in the range enveloping at least 60 degrees in the plane or a full range of 360 degrees in the plane, where related HRTF functions were previously identified as having such properties allowing to perform on them linear mixing in order to generate an interpolated HRTF functions without making significant distortion of serrate filtration. In some applications, the method includes the following: in response to a signal that serves as a sign of the specified direction of arrival, performance of linear mixing on data that serves as an attribute of HRTF related functions from a set of related HRTF functions, in order to determine HRTF for the specified direction of arrival; and performing of HRTF-filtration on the input audio signal using HRTF for the specified direction of arrival.

EFFECT: ensuring generation of interpolated HRTF functions.
