FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a method of producing cobalt catalyst precursor for synthesis of hydrocarbons, wherein method includes calcining a loaded catalyst support comprising a catalyst support supporting a cobalt salt, said calcination including decomposition of cobalt salt and/or reaction of cobalt salt with oxygen, wherein calcination converts cobalt salt into cobalt oxide and calcination includes providing a loaded catalyst support for thermal treatment by heating loaded catalyst support to temperature of T of at least 220 °C at heating rate below 10 °C/minute , and passing a stream of gas at volume rate of at least 19 m3 n/kg of cobalt salt/hour through loaded catalyst support for at least part of heating to temperature T 220 °C to produce cobalt catalyst precursor. Also disclosed is a method of producing catalyst for synthesis of hydrocarbons and a method for synthesis of hydrocarbons in presence of cobalt catalyst.
EFFECT: technical result is producing a cobalt catalyst with small crystallites, which has improved activity.
