FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a high-energy oral nutritional compositions for children with unstable growth resulting from malnutrition. Nutritional composition is preferably a smoothie. Composition contains fruit in an amount of at least 5 % by weight relative to total weight, having a low pH between 3.5 and 5, with energy content of at least 0.9 kcal/ml, and high protein - at least 8 % based on total calories in formulation. Alternatively, nutritional composition contains fruit preform in an amount of at least 5 % by weight relative to total weight of composition and has a refractive index between 15 and 70 degrees Brix. Composition is not yoghurt. Also disclosed is a method of producing nutritional composition.
EFFECT: nutritional composition is used for improvement of child nutrition with unstable growth as a result of disease.
