SUBSTANCE: protective element for counterfeit-proof papers, valuable documents or other data media has substrate, which in surface area has optically variable surface pattern, which with different direction of illumination and/or vision creates various images. Optically variable surface pattern is formed by at least locally periodic system of reflecting elements acting, in fact, at laws beam optics and surface area aperiodic displaced relative to each other along its height. Height of reflecting elements varies along surface area according to distribution of pseudorandom numbers.
EFFECT: technical result is achieving high degree of protection with simultaneous provision of achromatic image and absence of superimposed diffraction patterns.
