SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a gel for detecting dental deposit, suitable for use in oral cavity, which includes 0.2-1.5 wt% of xanthum gum, 0.2-3 wt% carboxymethyl cellulose and a colouring agent in concentration sufficient for visible plaque colouring after application of gel, where said gel has Herschel-Bulkley yield stress from 30 to 45 dyne/cm2, Herschel-Bulkley viscosity from 30 to 45 P, and Herschel-Bulkley flow index from 0.5 to 0.6.
EFFECT: invention enables to produce orally acceptable gel for detecting dental deposit with improved rheological properties, having viscosity, which makes it possible to perform effective application by pencil type feeder.
