FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines with charge air cooler. Method of engine operation consists in the fact that if value of condensate formation in charge air cooler (80) corresponds to calculated value, it is required to increase flow rate of inlet air passing through charge air cooler (80) by adjusting control valve (210) at inlet tank (206) inside charge air cooler (80). Valve (210) is used to direct inlet air only through partial volume of (216) charge air cooler (80). In this part of volume (216) and in the remaining part of volume there are inlet holes of cooling tubes (204) arranged in inlet tank (206) and connected with one inlet channel (208) for air. Versions of engine operating method are disclosed.
EFFECT: prevention of condensate accumulation inside charge air cooler.
