SUBSTANCE: method for operating the engine consists in draining condensate (210) from a cooler (80) connected to the engine when a compressor bypass valve (27) is activated (60) upon of an electronic controller (12) command. The electronic controller (12) opens the compressor bypass valve (27), opens a drain valve (208) in response to the opening of the compressor bypass valve (27), closes the compressor bypass valve (27), and closes the drain valve (208) in response to closure of the compressor bypass valve (27). Engine operation method option and engine system are disclosed.
EFFECT: reduction of misfire probability.
