FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in supercharged internal combustion engines equipped with charge air coolers. This method for engine (10) comprises a brief increase of the airflow through charge air (CAC) cooler (80) of the engine by operating the engine in the variable displacement mode (VDE). Engine (10) torque is maintained by increasing the boost pressure. Versions of the method for the engine and system for the engine are disclosed.

EFFECT: reducing the accumulation of condensate in the charge air cooler and preventing misfire in the engine.
