FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry of isoxazole derivatives, particularly to a method of producing ethyl 5-methyl-3-(3-phenoxyphenyl)isoxazole-4-carboxylate which is of interest as semiproducts in synthesis of biologically active substances. Method of producing 5-methyl-3-(3-phenoxyphenyl)isoxazole-4-carboxylate is performed by hydrochloric acid hydroxylamine with previously obtained acetoacetic ether derivative in alcohol medium followed by extraction of the obtained product. Used acetoacetic ether derivative is ethyl 3-oxo-2-(3-phenoxybenzoyl)butanoat previously obtained by acylation of acetoacetic ether sodium enolate with acid chloride of 3-phenoxybenzoic acid, condensation is carried out in ethyl alcohol medium at temperature of 80 °C during 2 hours, and the product is separated by filtration.
EFFECT: production of ethyl 5-methyl-3-(3-phenoxyphenyl)isoxazole-4-carboxylate in mild conditions with good output and high degree of purity.
