SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method and device for control of wear of brake pads and air gap working brake of vehicles, particularly for industrial vehicles, at least one sensor on each wheel brake, which is connected to actuating circuit and is connected to electronic processing unit, sensor signals travel wear straps, and simultaneously by means of a processing unit is determined by air gap and at specified relative to previously established rated air gap specified increase in air gap and thus at too high air gap is activated warning indicator. According to invention movement sensor (18) and treatment unit (20) are made so that due to evaluation of difference signal of movement sensor for actuated and non-actuated working brake, current air gap (S) is determined as actual air gap and thus, any deviation of air gap (S) from specified air gap is determined, wherein upon detecting excess air gap and thus, too large air gap (S), and upon detecting shortfall and thus, too small or absence of air gap (S), warning indicator is activated.
EFFECT: improved control of air gap.
