FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: powder composition based on iron for obtaining a sintered part by injection moulding has mean particle size of 20-60 mcm and contains 0.3-1.6 wt% Mo, 0.1-0.6 wt% P, optionally up to max. 3.0 wt% Cu, optionally up to max. 0.6 wt% Si, optionally up to max. 5 wt% Cr, max. 1.0 wt% unavoidable impurities, including carbon less than 0.1 wt%. Total content of Mo and 8*P varies in range of 2-4.7. Wherein 99 % of particles of said powder composition are smaller than 120 mcm. Material for metal injection moulding consists of said powder composition and binder. Method of producing sintered part includes forming said material for metal injection moulding in unsintered workpiece, removal of organic binder, produced workpiece is sintered in reducing atmosphere at temperature of 1200-1400 °C, cooling sintered part to allow formation of austenite grains along boundaries of ferrite grains.
EFFECT: obtaining a sintered part with density of at least 93 % of theoretical value and with low content of alloying elements.
