FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a pre-alloyed iron-based powder, a powdered iron-based mixture for a sintered carburised component and a method of making a sintered carburised part. Pre-alloyed iron-based powder consists of 0.7–0.9 wt. % of chromium, 0.2–0.4 wt. % of molybdenum, 0.01–0.15 wt. % of manganese, at most 0.20 wt. % oxygen, at most 0.05 wt. % of carbon, less than 0.05 wt. % of nitrogen, at most 0.3 wt. % of other unavoidable impurities and iron in the balance. Said powder has high compressibility and is able to impart high density to sintered and sintered parts before sintering and high density after sintering.
EFFECT: sintered carburised parts (for example, automobile gears) obtained using said powder have a hard surface in combination with a softer and more viscous core.
