FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: there is determined M-response amplitude and pulse conduction velocity in motor fibres of ulnar nerves at the level of elbow bends, in distal portions of the median-, ulnar- and peroneal nerves, residual latency of median nerves. Same values are determined in healthy individuals. There is calculated a percentage ratio of the values obtained from a specific patient to the corresponding values of healthy individuals. If residual latency of median nerves and pulse conduction velocity in motor fibres of ulnar nerves at the level of elbow bends in the patient is within the norm, while the percentage ratio of M-response amplitude of distal portions of median-, ulnar- and peroneal nerves to values of healthy individuals is below the norm, as well as if the percentage ratios of M-response amplitude of distal portions of median- and ulnar nerves do not exceed the percentage ratio of M-response amplitude in distal portions of peroneal nerve to the norm, there is diagnosed a polyneuropathy of upper limbs at diabetes of type 2.
EFFECT: method provides more reliable diagnosis of polyneuropathy of upper limbs, which is ensured due to the level of determination of myographic parameters and calculation of percentage ratio of the obtained values to the norm, excluding effect of hidden forms of carporal and cubital syndromes on myography data.
