FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to a method for treating diabetic distal sensorimotor polyneuropathies. Electric stimulation is performed by electric current of frequency of 1-2 Hz, duration of 200-500 mcs and amplitude of 20-90 mkV or electric current of frequency of 40-100 Hz, duration of 40-100 ms and amplitude of 5-15 mcV. During electrical stimulation the cathode is rigidly secured above the proximal part of the injured nerve. Anode is kept not fixed and moved along a projection of this nerve in the distal direction. Stimulation is performed every 10-15 cm, at least, in 3 points with a time interval of, at least, 10 seconds. Stimulation of each point is performed by discrete transmission of rectangular monophase electric current at least 5 times every 3 seconds. Stimulation session is repeated every second day to the total amount of 10-15 sessions. Duration of each session does not exceed 30 minutes.
EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness due to increased percentage of cured patients, as well as achieving larger therapeutic effect of the distal sensorimotor polyneuropathies.
