FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in machine building and other industries. Method involves heating article to austenitizing temperature, followed by complete immersion of heated item in quenching medium containing in wt%: silicates 10-35, chlorides 1-15, borates 5-25, water is balance, holding said solution for 10-60 s to ensure thermal protection adiabatic layer formation on surface, extraction of products of hardening compound and cured in air for 8-72 hours. Using given method and obtaining high-quality structure and characteristics of articles enables considerably increasing service life of products, higher reliability, service life and expand spheres of its application.
EFFECT: technical result is obtaining hardening stable results and improved mechanical properties.
