FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing alkene from oxygenate, including reaction of stream of initial reagents, containing at least one oxygenate and water, with catalyst of heteropolyacid on substrate at temperature equal to of no less than 170 °C. Methods is initiated with help of start-up procedures, including following steps: (i) heating of heteropolyacid catalyst on substrate to temperature equal to of no less than 220 °C; (ii) maintaining subjected to thermal treatment of heteropolyacid catalyst on substrate obtained at step (i), at temperature equal to of no less than 220 °C, for time sufficient for removal of bound water of heteropolyacid catalyst component of heteropolyacid on a substrate; (iii) in anhydrous atmosphere decreased temperature subjected to thermal treatment of heteropolyacid catalyst on substrate obtained at step (ii), to temperature is equal to less than 220 °C; and (iv) interaction of heteropolyacid catalyst on substrate obtained at step (iii), with stream of initial reagents at temperature equal to of no less than 170 °C. One of versions of implementation of method includes stage (v) at maintaining temperature is equal to no less than 170 °C, adding water to reagents of step (iv) to obtain stream of initial reagents.

EFFECT: technical result is increased selectivity of alkene, alkane quantity reduction in obtained product.
