SUBSTANCE: invention relates to receiving devices designed to allow provision of an application program that is in conjunction with a digital television show by use of an automatic content recognition (ACR) technique. Disclosed is a receiving device that receives audio-video content and extracts a feature from data of received audio-video content. Receiving device acquires an identification result of audio-video content identified from extracted feature by using an ACR technique and acquires a command for controlling operation of an application program run in conjunction with audio-video content in accordance with acquired identification result. Receiving device controls operation of application program in accordance with acquired command.

EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of receiving device for providing interaction between digital television program using ACR technology.
