FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to light-guide structure for mapping virtual objects on a background image. Light-guide structure comprises first part, second part, middle part and compensating part. Structure of compensating part is identical to structure of second part so that compensating part is adjacent to second part without a gap. First part receives light beams from external display device and by total internal reflection provides distribution of light beams through an intermediate part to second part. Second part is made in form of stepped structure, having a top surface and bottom surface. Upper surface has sections of inclined relative to lower surface, and sections located between inclined sections and connection to each other. Stepped structure outputs light beams which are reflected from inclined sections of upper surface. Lower surface displays only those light beams that fall on it at an angle less than angle of total internal reflection. Compensating and second parts provide for passage of light from objects of environment through themselves in a direction of viewer together with output light beams.
EFFECT: wider field of view and exit pupil of imaging system.
